WELCOME to D. Frederick Media and Marketing. I’m so glad you are here. I am Davina Frederick, founder of D. Frederick Media and Marketing, Florida-licensed attorney, and business growth strategist for professional service businesses. I help solo professionals and service-based businesses position themselves as indispensable trusted advisors clients clamor to hire.

For the past 25 years, I have immersed myself in the world of professional services marketing, first as a copywriter for an engineering firm, then as the marketing director for central Florida’s largest law firm, and then as a VP of business development for a computer technology consulting company. I’ve also worked with an award-winning marketing and advertising agency, and owned, operated and invested in multiple start-ups including a high-performance fitness training gym, an IT and web design company, and a law firm. As a business attorney, I’ve advised numerous small businesses and solo professionals on matters such as formation, planning and growth strategies.
About four years ago, I delved into the world of digital and social media marketing, learning everything I could about how to leverage the power of the Internet, social selling and mobile technology to promote professional services, attract ideal clients, and generate income. It’s been a fascinating (and, at times, expensive and messy) journey, but the results are nothing short of life-altering.

Do any of these statements sound like something you have said? I know when I first started marketing my law practice (and my gym), I probably said them all. Here’s the truth: Posting on Facebook every day is not going to do squat for you or your business unless:
- Your prospective clients hang out there;
- You know exactly what you need to say and how you need to say it when you post something; and
- You do it consistently and persistently.
Same thing with LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest, your website, your blog or any other marketing, sales or business development tool.
If you want to generate the highest quality leads, work only with your ideal clients, AND make more money, then you MUST start with a planning process customized to your specific needs and goals. Only with planning can you really get a handle on which methods, tools and resources would best serve you and your business.
Doing something just because you think you are “supposed to” or because “everyone is doing it,” is the quickest and surest way to kill your business.
